About

Real access control for Discord communities.

Perminator is a permission-management tool and Discord bot for server owners who have outgrown Discord's built-in role switches. It breaks coarse permissions such as "Manage Roles", "Manage Channels", and "Kick / Ban Members" into 24 granular permissions that can each be granted, denied, and audited on their own.

Why we built it

Discord's native model works well for small communities. Once a server has a staff team, it creates a recurring dilemma: give a moderator the one switch they need and they receive a dozen powers they do not, or withhold the switch and become a bottleneck. Many owners end up handing out Administrator simply to stop the requests. We built Perminator so that the principle of least privilege is practical on Discord: every staff member gets exactly the actions their job requires, and nothing else.

What the product does

  • Splits role, channel, member, and server management into independent, individually assignable permissions.
  • Shows every role against every permission in a single matrix, with channel override editing built in.
  • Logs each allowed and denied action with the actor, target, permission, and time.
  • Lets you copy permission sets between roles and servers, and explore everything in a preview workspace before connecting Discord.

How we handle your data

Perminator stores only what it needs to operate your dashboard, and encrypts Discord-sourced details such as names, emails, and member caches at rest. We do not sell data, and we do not send Discord API data to advertisers. The full details, including how to request deletion, are in our Privacy Policy.

Free educational resources

Alongside the product, we publish a public permission reference, a staff planner, and guides on Discord permissions. They explain how roles combine, how the hierarchy limits moderators, how channel overrides are resolved, and what to do when a permission seems to do nothing. They are written to be useful on their own, whether or not you use Perminator.

How the guides stay current

Discord adds permission flags without a long announcement. Pin Messages, Bypass Slowmode, Use External Apps, and the split between creating and managing expressions are easy to miss if a page was written against an older client. The permission reference is the page we update when that happens, and each guide shows a published date and an updated date.

We write these pages ourselves. We do not accept guest posts or paid placements. If a page disagrees with what your client just did, email hello@perminator.xyz with the permission name and what you observed — that is how a correction gets in.
